Karl Redmond, has over 25 years of property experience ranging from estate rationalisation, finance, strategic/commercial planning and analysis. He is a Director of both the UK BIM4SME and UK BIM4HEALTH groups, endorsed by Cabinet Office. He is also a Fellow of the Leeds Sustainability Institute.

Karl is engaged in various initiatives surrounding social infrastructure; procurement; project management; facilities & estate management; strategic integrated business & estate planning. He is also pursuing a PhD with Leeds Beckett University with a focus on NHS Estates and Patient Pathways via the digitisation of the built environment, BIM and ‘Internet of Things’ agenda. He is actively coordinating and driving Smart Asset Management projects with Estates groups, capturing, BMS, CAFM, Life Cycle costs benefits/data via asset, component attribute understanding and democratized through the IoT.

Karl was a member of the NHS Estates and Facilities Management specialist ‘Think Tank’ providing professional input and advice to the Department of Health (DH) on efficiencies as input to the Carter Efficiency program.

As a property banker for over 10 years Karl handled portfolios for both local and national clients. Projects ranged from £1 million to £500 million and involved all recognised estate sectors, new build and refurbishment.

Karl worked as part of the Leeds Beckett University and the Sustainability Institute where he proactively assisted in the development of successful research funding bids relating to built environment and sustainability projects.

He is now assisting several estates groups with strategic planning, leveraging and funding options in line with the client’s objectives and aspirations.
