Claire Hennessy

Senior Estates Operational Manager
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust

Shortly after leaving school Claire embarked on an adventure within the Royal Navy which led to the start of her engineering career as a weapons electrical engineering mechanic working on-board Her Majesties warship maintaining and carrying out repairs on the weapons and radar systems.

Claire was nominated and won the Central London Maintenance Association Award of Junior Engineer of the Year in 1997.

In 1998 upon completion of a very successful apprenticeship and further employment as an electrical crafts person, Claire became Assistant Works Manager at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in St Johns Wood, London.

Claire moved to Hemel Hempstead General Hospital in 2002 as an Estates Officer before moving to Watford General Hospital in 2004 to manage the Operational Estates Team. Since 2012, Claire took up the post of Senior Estates Operational Manager at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals, part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust; and has now promoted to Head of Operational Estates and Facilities Service.
